The stool is very multipurposeful. Toddlers and preschoolers love them. They are easy to get on and off independantly. Matched with our table they offer children a great opportunity to feel independent when they can get on and off a "chair" at their own table. 
 
The stool is also a great play structure. Line a few up together or use two with a piece of wood between to make a blance beam. There are lots of opportunities for play. Even rolling.
 
If you have infants in your care the stool can also make a great table for children to sit beside. It is the perfect heigh at 6.5 inches tall. 
 
One more option, although I am sure there are many more, is can serve as an excellent meditation stool. It is very comfortable wth rounded edges and just the right for me, a person of average height.
